St. Louis roads are first in U.S. to be paved with smog-eating concrete.


Road workers in St. Louis are repaving roads with smog-eating concrete as part of a $55 million stimulus-funded improvement project. The concrete contains a chemical that breaks down pollution. St. Louis is the first American city to use the technology, but tests in Italy found a 40% reduction in pollution levels after the concrete was deployed.
