Demand Drives Igloo Yukon Cold Locker Production

Igloo triples production; plans to expand capacity.

Igloo Products Corp, the nation’s largest cooler manufacturer, introduced Yukon “Cold Lockers” in January of 2012 for the serious outdoorsman. Yukon comes in 50, 70, 150 and 250 quart sizes. Due to high demand, Igloo has tripled its capacity in the past month in order to meet retailer and consumer volume.

Later in 2012, Igloo will devote a portion of its Katy, Texas facility to rotational molding equipment for the purpose of better servicing this fast growing line of products in the Igloo portfolio. Igloo will proudly add the title of “Made in America” to its Yukon line beginning in August of 2012.

The Yukon cold lockers feature a minimum of three inches of foam in a gasketed lid, and two inches of foam in the cooler’s body, providing 7- to 14-day cold performance, depending on the body size. They have rugged, wide-grip, integrated handles that accommodate large or gloved hands and can act as tie-down loops. The integrated handles are more stable to carry than swinging rope handles and make the cold locker harder to steal.

Each model has an oversized tethered drain plug to prevent loss and for easy draining and cleaning. They also have a textured, non-skid working and standing surface integrated into their lids and unique dual, reversible skid/anti-skid pads on the bottom.

The lid is secured with durable, yet flexible rubber latches with finger grips. All stainless steel hinges, hardware and dual lid locks provide maximum security and deter animals.

Igloo is expanding the current Yukon line to offer more sizes, colors and patented features.
