Mall of America Announces $2.5B Expansion
Additions will include stores, hotels, eateries, a hockey rink and a water park.
A $2.5 billion expansion of the Mall of America in Minnesota will add more stores and restaurants, three or four hotels, an office tower, an "NHL-sized skating rink" and a 7,000-slot, eight-level parking garage. The plans also include a water park "of a size and scale that it would be a tourist attraction in and of itself," said Kurt Hagen, senior vice president of development for Triple Five Worldwide.
