Peter Skaalen Named to Key Position At PFERD INC.

PFERD INC. today announced the appointment of Peter Skaalen as their new Vice President of Operations. PFERD INC. today announced the appointment of Peter Skaalen as their new Vice President of Operations. Skaalen will be based at the PFERD facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he will be responsible for directing all manufacturing and distribution operations for PFERD ADVANCE in the U.S.

PFERD ADVANCE is a leader in brush design and manufacturing and had moved all their production equipment and inventory to their 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Milwaukee just three years ago.

Skaalen comes to PFERD from Waukesha Metal products where he served five years as Operations Manager. At PFERD, he will report directly to company President, Gene Huegin.

He had also previously served as General Manager of Slinger Manufacturing, Director of Operations for Huffy Sports and Plant Engineer for John Deere. He holds a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Stout.

Skaalen is a member of PMA and holds a manufacturing process patent for leather products. He is originally from Richfield, WI but now resides in Hubertus, Wisconsin with his wife, Diana, and their two children.

In announcing the appointment, Huegin stated he felt Skaalen's strong background in operations management will serve PFERD well in continuing their growth in North America. "We are fortunate to have a person with Peter's experience to take over such a key position for us. His strengths fit our needs exactly and we look forward to his contributions making a major impact on achieving our sales and service goals."

In commenting on his appointment, Skaalen expressed his eagerness in facing this new assignment. "This is a challenge I am ready for", he said. I know I can continue this trend in service improvement and help meet the abrasive and brush needs of all the metalworking, welding, construction and industrial markets in the future," Skaalen concluded.
