Rockler has named Ron Hornbaker, a seasoned retail and operations executive, as CEO. Hornbaker will be spearheading Rockler’s growth in new retail markets and online.

"I am honored to join Rockler, a company rich in both heritage and reputation,” says Hornbaker. “Rockler has over 61 years of experience helping woodworkers of all skill levels build furniture, cabinetry and other hand-crafted items. That brings brand authenticity that is rare to find these days. And, with much of their product development done in-house, they have innovative tools and accessories that you just can’t find anywhere else. This is a really exciting opportunity.”

Ann Jackson, Chairman of the family-owned company, states: "We are excited to have someone with Ron’s experience growing retailers on board, and we are looking forward to his leadership as Rockler expands its customer base and markets.”

According to Hornbaker, Rockler will be growing its markets through new stores, new products and improved alignment of the company’s multiple business channels: stores, online, catalogs, wholesale and media. The company is opening two new stores this fall in Florida and California bringing the company-owned store count to thirty-one, with plans for additional stores next year.

The company also operates a leading ecommerce site at www.rockler.com and publishes Woodworker’s Journal, a print and digital woodworking magazine.

Hornbaker has an extensive background with high-growth retailers. His most recent position was at Golf Town Inc., where he served as Interim CEO and Executive Vice President Sales and Operations and oversaw operations of 62 stores.

Formerly a partner at Retail Minds LLC and Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations at Golf Galaxy, Hornbaker also held senior positions at Select Comfort Corporation and Tandy Name Brand Retail Group.
