Duracell partners with American Red Cross

Partnership encourages businesses and organizations to improve emergency readiness plans.

Duracell Professional has announced a new partnership with the American Red Cross. The partnership will encourage businesses and organizations to improve their emergency readiness plans through the “Ready. Set. Prep.” campaign.

As part of the partnership, Duracell will donate batteries that the American Red Cross will use to help safeguard its supply of donated blood.

Studies show that one out of every four businesses fails after a disaster, underscoring the need for emergency planning. The “Ready. Set. Prep.” campaign, which begins in October, will offer professionals simple, yet critical guidance to help them improve readiness at their place of work.

Professionals responsible for planning typically include HR managers, business continuity managers, facilities managers, and educators. Participants will receive free tools, including:

  • A downloadable Emergency Readiness Guide containing Red Cross readiness information, including a basic guide to readiness and a recommended device guide; and
  • A Readiness Is Simple Kit containing a flashlight, pack of Duracell batteries, and an Emergency Readiness Battery Guide poster.

Participants will also have access to Ready Rating, a free preparedness program from the American Red Cross that helps businesses assess their current state of readiness.

The “Ready. Set. Prep.” campaign is part of Duracell’s longstanding tradition of helping communities prepare for and respond to disasters. Duracell also administers the Power Forward program, which deploys a fleet of vehicles to communities after disasters to provide batteries, power, and comfort to those in need. The fleet has deployed to 14 disaster locations and helped more than 30,000 families by distributing over 350,000 batteries, charging over 7,000 devices, and providing computer access to over 5,000 people.
