Larson Electronics debuts LED work lights on FX TVs’ The Strain

From the big screen to your home television, industrial lighting equipment leader Larson Electronics has experienced significant expansion into the film entertainment industry. Larson Electronics’ line of industrial grade lighting and heavy duty spotlights continue to be a popular choice in cinematic productions with their latest appearance in the FX television series The Strain.
Larson Electronics’ lighting products have been used in several big screen movies including The Dark Night Rises, Pacific Rim and Run All Night as well as television series such as Person of Interest, NCIS and Grey’s Anatomy.
In the process of filming the third season of The Strain, producers have entrusted in Larson’s lighting products once again. The rugged design and high performance of these industrial grade lighting products have lent themselves well to the production of today’s action and sci-fi thrillers.
Production crews will be using Larson’s 40 watt high intensity led work light in episodes of the third season, as well as their 14 watt LED drop light. The high intensity LED work light offers high light output in a compact form, while provided a long lived alternative to a 250 watt metal halide light.
This LED light is equipped with a two-hundred pound grip magnetic base that allows it to be mounted to metallic surfaces such as hoods, frame rails, and tool boxes. The unit can be powered directly from a 120 volt AC power source and includes a twelve foot cord that is terminated in a 5-15 straight blade plug.
Larson’s 14 watt LED task light is constructed to be completely weather and impact resistant, making it durable enough to withstand drops, falls, and rough handling. Equipped with a two foot LEDT8 lamp and a two foot polycarbonate lens, this drop light is designed to operate at cooler temperatures than conventional incandescent and fluorescent lights.
The 14 watt T8 style LED lamp produces 1,750 lumens of lights and offers a 50,000 hour service life. This drop light comes standard with a set of drop hooks to allow users to hang the unit overhead. This light is equipped with twenty-five feet of cord terminated in an optional cord cap and can run on 120-277 volts AC, as well as 12-24 volts DC for low voltage operation.
