IronPlanet adds fifth day to Florida Cat auction

Ring Power hosts largest Cat auction services event ever, February 8-12.

IronPlanet has added a fifth day to its annual Kissimmee, Florida auction. Already one of the industry’s most anticipated events of 2016, IronPlanet’s Cat Auction Services marketplace has expanded its Florida event schedule to start on Monday, February 8, to accommodate additional sellers who have consigned more than 2,000 pieces of quality equipment to the sale.

Ring Power Corporation of St. Augustine, Florida, one of the largest Cat dealers in North America, is hosting the auction. This is the second year that Ring Power has hosted this event, which will be the largest Cat Auction Services unreserved public auction in its history. The auction will take place in Kissimmee, FL, on February 8 - 12, 2016, beginning at 9 a.m. ET each day.

“IronPlanet is changing the Florida auction landscape this year,” said Gregory J. Owens, IronPlanet Chairman and CEO. “I am very excited about the level of support from independent Cat dealers, leading OEMs, dealers, construction companies, rental companies, financial institutions, and other large fleet owners. The equipment that we will be auctioning, all backed by our IronClad Assurance, will be the best selection of late model, low hour equipment in the Florida auctions this year. We have been marketing this sale to our global buyer base of more than 1.4 million registered users and we anticipate great bidder turnout. Online or in person, our event is not to be missed.”

The company’s largest unreserved public auction ever will feature a wide range of high-quality equipment from Caterpillar, Volvo, John Deere, Komatsu, JLG, Genie and more. Another first for this year’s auction will be the participation of Wal-Mart who is selling Cascadia Freightliners. IronPlanet’s innovative LEADERBOARD live auction technology will provide online bidders the same views, videos and bidding experience as onsite bidders, reaching a global audience in approximately 150 countries around the world.

"This year's Cat Auction Services sale has one of the most impressive line-ups of equipment that I have ever seen in Florida in February," said Frank Fowler, senior vice president and director of used sales at Ring Power Corporation. "While Ring Power has traditionally participated in the Florida auctions and enjoyed the strong participation of onsite buyers, we now have access to the much larger online global buyer base of IronPlanet as well. Ring Power’s decision to give 100% support to IronPlanet's Cat Auction Services marketplace is a result of our recognition of a changing market and where we receive the most value for our business."
