Point of Rental creates industry-first customer rewards app

Loyalty programs help gain and retain customers.


Point of Rental Software unveiled the first Customer Rewards app in the rental industry in its version 2016 update, enabling rental businesses around the world to easily manage a customer loyalty program.

According to a study conducted by the American Rental Association, rental customers want loyalty programs – developing a rewards program is one of the ARA’s Top 5 sales and marketing recommendations for rental store owners. Up to 50% of professional renters (specifically, contractors and event planners) base their rental store decision on familiarity or customer service; customer rewards programs help rental stores build that familiarity.

Point of Rental’s app allows rental stores to encourage lifelong customers and build brand loyalty. With this feature, a store owner can define the percentage of each type of income to reward the customer with. When a customer rents an item, rewards will automatically accrue in their account based on the defined parameters. These rewards can then be used on future rentals.

It’s also easy to set expiration dates, increasing a sense of immediacy about returning. Reward accrual and expiration are automatically handled by the system, which will notify the counter person when rewards are available to be applied to the current contract.
