Metabo details highlights from Fabtech 2018 in Atlanta

Company showcases its latest in technology, safety and problem solving tools.

Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade cordless and corded hand-held power tools and accessories, is back from Fabtech 2018 in Atlanta, GA.

Fabtech is the largest trade show in North America for the welding and fabrication industry. About 34,000 attendees went to the show to network and experience the latest technologies, systems and view product demonstrations as well as attend educational sessions.

“We had a great show at Fabtech this year, having a record number of people in the booth and receiving overwhelming positive feedback on our latest metalworking systems. At this year’s show, Metabo really demonstrated that we offer the most advanced and complete Metalworking systems around the work of the welders. Naturally we focused on safety and showcased our extensive line of industrial metalworking solutions (available in cordless and corded) for the welding process from start to finish, including tools for welding prep, cutting/grinding to finishing and metal assembly”, said Antoine Derché, Metabo’s Director of Product and Marketing.

At Fabtech, Metabo introduced their newest products, like the 7” and 9” Mechanical Safety Brake Grinders (WEPB 24-180 MVT and WEPB 24-230 MVT) that stop the wheel in 2.5 seconds of releasing the paddle switch, significantly reducing the risk of injury in the event the operator loses control of the tool.

Also at the show was Metabo’s powerful and ergonomic new Automotive Polisher (PE15-20) that’s not only very comfortable and ergonomic to work with, but is so quiet the end-user doesn’t need to wear hearing protection while working the tool.

The extremely fast, one-handed Brushless Rivet Gun (NP 18 LTX BL 5.0) was also featured, it can secure 2,000 3/16” rivets on a single charge.

Finally, Metabo’s new 8.0 Ah and 4.0 Compact Battery Technology with the latest 21.700 cells were also on showcased. The new batteries allow for larger cell capacity while delivering high currents to the tools, therefore allowing for true industrial grade performance.
