Over the last 10 years, moisture resistant OSB products with a water-resistant formulation (to prevent water absorption and swelling over time) have replaced many traditional OSB panels. However, these new panels are more difficult for traditional subfloor adhesives to adhere to – causing many adhesives to fail and leading to an increase in floor squeaks.
DAP – a leader in the home improvement and construction products industry – and Georgia-Pacific (GP) – a leading manufacturer of moisture resistant OSB panels – recently worked together to find a solution: DAP SMARTBOND Subfloor Construction Adhesive.
Following a full gamut of product testing, GP now recommends DAP SMARTBOND Subfloor Construction Adhesive for use with its DryMax High-Performance OSB. As the most moisture-resistant OSB sub-floor GP manufactures, DryMax OSB required an adhesive that would deliver a strong, long-lasting bond. DAP SMARTBOND performed head and shoulders above the competitive set.
