Powered by August Robotics’ autonomous, fleet-capable platform, DEWALT’s autonomous downward drilling robot, DALE, enables cost-efficient, high-capacity drilling for installation of server rack stops and supports for MEP systems. The system allows workers to focus on skilled tasks and limits exposure to vibration and silica dust caused by rotary hammer use. Equipped with fast-swap batteries and remote monitoring, DALE maximizes time on-site to support around-the-clock drilling operations. Integrated automatic dust extraction and AI-enhanced quality assurance ensure sites are clean and prepped for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installation workflows immediately after drilling. Through testing, DALE has achieved 99.97% accuracy within 1/8 inches of the true location and less than 1 degree hole drift.
