FastenMaster Ground Contact Coating

FastenMaster Ground Contact Coating is designed to to extend the life of pressure treated lumber used in deck and fence posts, and other outdoor applications. Formulated with 1% disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT) to resist insects and fungus, the Ground Contact Coating is a long-lasting water-based acrylic membrane that repels the elements that cause ground rot.The formula, which goes on white and dries clear to preserve the color and texture of the wood, allows natural patterns and characteristics to remain visible. Prior to curing, the coating can be easily cleaned up with soap and warm water. Ground Contact Coating comes in 1/2-gallon buckets which covers 40 square feet, equal to 14 6-inch by 6-inch wood posts. The coating is applied with a standard bristle paint brush or a 3/8-inch nap roller.
