Bobcat Unveils Versatile TL623 Telehandler
Bobcat Company has unveiled its all-new TL623 telehandler that offers the extended reach and lift capacity of a heavy-duty telescoping boom combined with the company’s multi-attachment versatility enabling operators to tackle a wide range of jobs with one machine.
The Bobcat Tl623 telehandler provides operators with the ability to reach high, stack a pallet and then quickly change attachments to move onto another task. |
“The TL623 gives operators the flexibility to accomplish a variety of demanding tasks with superior precision and efficiency,” said Jamison Wood, Bobcat product development specialist. “It’s ideal for agriculture, construction, landscaping, snow removal and many other applications that require a high-performing and versatile tool carrier.”
The machine provides operators with the ability to reach high, stack a pallet and then quickly change attachments to move onto another task.
Via Bobcat’s Bob-Tach mounting system, operators can easily share select attachments with other pieces of Bobcat equipment. From pallet forks and buckets to grapples and snowblowers, operators can conquer a variety of tasks without the need for specialty attachments.
The TL623 has a lift capacity of 6,000 pounds and a lift height of 23 feet. Powered by a 74-horsepower engine, it requires no use of diesel particulate filter (DPF). Bobcat says operators will appreciate the engine’s cold weather starting ability along with additional features that make maintenance and service more convenient.
It have five operation modes to enhance the versatility needed for a variety of applications:
Like the operating modes, there are four steering modes that relate to application-matched maneuverability.
- ECO mode allows operators to maintain hydraulic performance without using the engine’s full power—working with lower rpm, less noise and lower fuel consumption.
- Smooth drive mode is ideal for maneuvering across job sites with mild acceleration and deceleration while carrying loads.
- Dynamic drive mode increases responsiveness of the telehandler’s acceleration and deceleration for traveling between tasks.
- Flex drive mode allows the operator to manage the engine speed independently from travel speed.
Advanced attachment control mode allows for full auxiliary hydraulic performance.
In addition, the TL623 telehandler features more performance-enhancing features such as fou steering modes to increase operators’ productivity.
- All-wheel steer mode allows you to make quick and tight turns.
- Front-wheel steer is your standard steering mode, with the front wheels controlling the direction of the machine.
- Crab steer takes your maneuverability one step further by allowing precise side-to-side positioning.
- Semi-crab steer mode allows operators to set the rear wheels in a crab position while steering with the front wheels.
As for operation, a single, intuitive joystick controls the travel direction, lift and tilt functions, boom extension and auxiliary hydraulics. Operators can manage multiple machine functions at the same time with a system that provides more precise control.

The directional switch for forward, neutral and reverse can be operated with the index figure on the front side of the joystick. The 2-speed travel switch, lift-arm float, boom extension, machine function settings and auxiliary hydraulics are located on the rear of the joystick.
It features automatic ride control to reduce material spillage and enabling operators to travel at faster speeds.
The cab of the machine builds upon the Bobcat tradition of operator-centered design with high visibility and ergonomic design featuring an air-suspension seat, HVAC system and an easy-to-read 5-inch LCD display panel. Bobcat says the TL623 cabs are designed and tested to ROPS and FOPS level II standards.
In addition, the company says the low-profile boom on the TL623 sits below operator eye level to provide an open view of the surroundings. Front, top and rear window wipers help keep windows free of debris and precipitation. Also, mirrors on the operator’s left and right provide added visibility when working in confined areas. An optional rear mirror kit, rear view camera kit and boom work light kit also are available.
The TL623 is built with a box-welded frame for enhanced rigidity, plus a low center of gravity for stability. A shielded bottom plate protects vital components, while the engine, cooling system and critical components are well-protected within the center of the chassis, ensuring minimal wear and tear due to jobsite obstacles or harsh terrain.
As for maintenance, the side-by-side mounted radiator, oil cooler and fan provide a clean engine compartment layout for easy access. Dirt and debris removal is quick and simple whenever cleaning is necessary.
Additional service points such as oil filters also are easily accessible for quick serviceability.
