KNIPEX Tools Earns 2025 Great Place to Work Certification
For the second year in a row, KNIPEX Tools has been certified by Great Place to Work.

The award is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at the company. This year, 93% of employees at KNIPEX said it’s a great place to work, 36% higher than the average U.S. company.
Recognized worldwide by employees and employers alike, Great Place to Work Certification is the global benchmark for identifying and recognizing outstanding employee experience. Based entirely on what employees report about their workplace experience, specifically, how consistently they experience a high-trust workplace, it is one of the most definitive “employer-of-choice” recognition that companies aspire to achieve.
Every year, more than 10,000 companies across 60 countries apply to get Great Place to Work-Certified. According to research from Great Place to Work, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a certified great workplace.
Five years ago, KNIPEX Tools LP (KTLP) launched a values-based culture for its employees with four core values: knowledge, teamwork, loyalty and passion.
“It was important that these values be more than just a sign on the wall, so we made them central to how we do business on a daily basis by adding them as job expectations in position descriptions and by evaluating how well we model these values in our performance reviews” said Julie Day, vice president of human resources. “As the company has grown and we continue to add new employees, we purposefully look for new team members who share our values.”
Throughout the year, employees are provided growth opportunities such as tuition reimbursement for degrees and certifications. The company prioritizes a healthy work-life balance with hybrid work options and flex hours for office employees plus a compressed 4-day work week for our second shift warehouse employees.
In addition, KNIPEX makes time for fun and social interaction with annual events such as the employee appreciation bowling tournament, summer picnic and holiday party.
KNIPEX Tools LP was established in 2004 as the North American subsidiary of KNIPEX-Werk, a fourth-generation private family company based in Wuppertal, Germany.
Now the largest subsidiary of the KNIPEX-Werk, the KNIPEX Tools LP headquarters is in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and houses not only the distribution center for all of North America but the marketing, sales, accounting, human resources, customer service, supply chain and operations teams.
