Coast’s new knives feature the patented Double-Lock safety switch, which makes the knife safer to use. Each of these knives includes a primary Liner-Lock, which automatically locks the blade into the open position when the knife is opened. The Double-Lock safety switch mechanism works in conjunction with the Liner-Lock to prevent closing of the blade, providing a second level of safety for the user.
To engage the Double-Lock, the user simply pushes the Double-Lock lever forward once the blade is open. To disengage, the user pulls the lever back with their thumb. The combination of the Liner-Lock and Double-Lock, give the user a very safe knife that can be opened and closed with one hand.
Built to last, and covered by the Coast limited lifetime warranty, new Coast knives feature high-carbon stainless steel blades that are sharp, tough and corrosion resistant. The open-frame design decreases weight and makes cleaning easy. Depending on the knife’s design and purpose, users can choose from a variety of handle materials.
Lightweight, yet strong aluminum handles on the DX321 and DX320 provide a perfect hand grip and G10 handles on DX350 and DX345 versions include a steel support in the middle which results in greatly increased strength and durability. Available in a variety of styles, the blade-assist knives have either a full-edge stain/glass-beaded finish or a black blade that’s partially serrated.
