Zircon Re-Imagines Stud Finding with SuperScan ID

The stud finder is one of the best-selling items in the hand tool business.

The new stud finder boasts an intuitive user interface that indicates the center, left edge, and right edge of wood and metal studs.

Few brands have captured and held a category like Zircon, the manufacturer of the original stud finder. For more than 40 years, Zircon has maintained a constant presence on store shelves and online sites.

According to a brand analysis published by Home Improvement Executive magazine, an estimated 75% of hardware retailers indicated they expect Zircon to be the primary driver of sales in the category.

The popularity of stud finders is a testament to how vital these tools are for builders, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, tradespeople, professionals, and DIYers. Many of their tasks stem from the need to accurately locate wood studs within walls.

With this in mind, Zircon continues to innovate and improve its proprietary stud-finding technologies while branching out with other sophisticated electronic handheld tools.

The company is always seeking to advance technology to provide a better representation of what is behind the wall in a manner easier for users.

The latest innovation is Zircon’s SuperScan ID advanced stud finder with One Touch technology that enables a user to map virtually all objects behind the wall surface, including wood studs, metal studs, live, unshielded AC wires, and low-density objects without having to change modes.

In its third generation, the SuperScan ID also includes a 4-Color Target ID display that indicates the object type by color for instant visual recognition. In addition, there are target indicator bars to indicate the center, left edge, and right edge of wood and metal studs, as well as a low battery indicator. A patented SpotLite pointer shines an arrow-shaped beam on the wall, to indicate the target’s location.
