Sellars’ CFO Recognized with Award from BizTimes
The chief financial officer of Sellars Absorbent Materials was recognized as a Notable CFO by BizTimes Media.

John Lutz joined Sellars four years ago as vice president of finance and was subsequently promoted to CFO.
“John has strengthened our internal processes through improved reporting and software solutions while also managing key external relationships with insurance partners, banking institutions and our outside accounting firm,” said Tom Sellars, CEO of Sellars. “In addition, John remained dedicated as he worked through many challenges last year.”
As a member of the leadership team, Lutz has been an important contributor to improvements in the company and securing capital to finance capital expenditures and sustained growth.
Early on, he realigned the finance team and increased automation and technology that led to improved efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
Lutz also implemented new financial reporting systems that provide users with easy access to quality data to inform and drive business decisions.
In addition, he fostered a collaborative environment between finance, IT and other departments.
“As a key member of the leadership team, he has invested his time, energy and expertise to contribute to Sellars’ growth,” Sellars said.
