American Ladder Institute Promotes Ladder Safety All Year Long

National Ladder Safety Month is over, but safe practices must go on

American Ladder Institute

With the end of March being the end of another National Ladder Safety Month, the American Ladder Institute reminds professionals and DIYers of the importance of always being safe and mindful while using ladders.

As the sponsor of the event, the American Ladder Institute (ALI) is the only approved developer of safety standards for the U.S. ladder industry.

Ladders are commonly used tools, which are often taken for granted.

This year marked the 10 th anniversary of National Ladder Safety Month, which is observed with five themed weeks focused on all aspects of ladder safety.

It is an opportunity for every ladder user to take the time to review procedures and recommit to always being safe.

ALI emphasizes that ladder safety begins well before the first step is taken.

Safety considerations suggested by ALI can be made through all phases of ladder usage including choosing the ladder, pre-inspection, setting it up, climbing and even during transport and storage.

Tips, including  free training that includes video classes and other coursework that can stand alone or complement a company’s existing safety programs are available at https://www.laddersafetytraining.org/.

In addition, ALI 2026 Ladder Safety Training & Citations Survey remains open through April 17.

The anonymous survey helps identify trends in ladder use, training practices, injuries, and OSHA citations, with findings that help inform future safety education and industry initiatives. Complete the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MD7YTTN.
