Legend Valve Launches Hyperpure PE-RT Portable Water Tubing

Legend Valve has launched HyperPure PE-RT to address these challenges by combining strength, controlled rigidity, and additive-free purity in a next-generation tubing solution.
“Plumbing professionals are looking for solutions that improve system durability while simplifying installation and protecting water quality,” said Mike Boehk, general manager of pipe manufacturing at Legend Valve. “HyperPure PE-RT was engineered to deliver performance across all three priorities backed by a 100-year warranty guaranteeing it’ll last for generations.”
HyperPure PE-RT (Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance) is manufactured with a specially formulated HyperTherm bimodal PE-RT resin. Unlike traditional materials, this bimodal process weaves together molecular chains rather than relying on chemical cross-linking, providing unmatched strength and toughness.
The advanced structure results in superior resistance to burst pressure (rated at 100 PSI at 180°F) and exceptional slow-crack resistance.
With a top-tier CL-5 rating, HyperPure offers the highest level of protection against chlorine degradation, ensuring the pipe won’t become brittle over time. The result is a more resilient piping system engineered for decades of maintenance-free service.
In addition, HyperPure offers a superior balance of rigidity and flexibility, featuring best-in-class 'stay-straight' and ‘stress-relax’ capabilities.
Unlike traditional piping that fights the installer, HyperPure uncoils easily and holds its position, significantly increasing efficiency on the job site. With a tight bend radius of five times the outside diameter, and five-foot increment markings to minimize scrap, it is as resourceful as it is easy to handle.
Also, HyperPure is compatible with cold expansion rings, copper crimp rings, stainless steel cinch clamps, insert, push-fit, and fusion fittings, offering versatility across installation preferences and project requirements.
Legend Valve says HyperPure is manufactured without chemical cross-linking or performance-altering additives, keeping the material fully compliant with HDPE Code 2 guidelines for purity and performance. With no chemical treatments being used during production, there is no risk of off-gassing or 'plastic' tastes, and the need for line flushing is eliminated.
This additive-free composition not only protects potable water quality but also makes HyperPure an industry leader in sustainability. Additionally, it is fully recyclable, allowing job site scrap to be repurposed rather than sent to a landfill.
HyperPure PE-RT is designed for all standard potable water applications and is fully accepted under both National and International Plumbing Codes.
By meeting and exceeding the same rigorous performance standards as PEX, HyperPure allows for a seamless transition to a more advanced material without requiring changes to existing design specifications.
The tubing is third-party certified for potable water use and is available through Legend Valve’s national distribution network.
