CRSI Announces Updated Reinforcing Bar Supports Standard
The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) has released a new standard, Bend Diameters, Measuring Points and Fabrication Tolerances for Steel Reinforcing Bars.

This mandatory-language standard covers the fabrication requirements for steel reinforcing bars used as reinforcement in concrete structures.
Founded in 1924, the CRSI is a technical institute and Standards Developing Organization (SDO) that stands as the authoritative resource steel reinforced concrete construction
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited the CRSI as a Standards Development Organization (SDO) in April, 2013.
CRSI is one of the nation’s oldest trade associations whose members represent over 80% of the U.S. manufacturers, fabricators and placers of steel reinforcing bar and related products with over 600 locations in 49 states with over 15,000 employees.
Members also include professionals involved in the research, design, and construction of steel reinforced concrete. The CRSI staff comprises a nationwide region network of industry professionals.
The scope of CRSI’s standards activities includes the development and maintenance of consensus standards for design, detailing, fabrication, placement, and construction of assemblies consisting of steel reinforcement and associated products used in concrete and masonry construction.
Currently, CRSI has five standards.
