Portable Electric Tools: DEWALT DCF620 20V MAX Brushless Lithium Ion Drywall Screwgun

New to its 20V MAX line of power tools, DEWALT announces the launch of the DCF620 20V MAX XR Brushless Lithium Ion Drywall Screwgun with Extreme Runtime which allows drywall carpenters to Get More Done without power cords.

The new drywall screwgun is ideal for both residential and commercial drywall hanging DCF620D2_2applications – driving screws into both wood and steel studs. “Performance and productivity are two of the most important things to drywall users when looking for a new screwgun,” says Lauren Chell, product manager for DEWALT.

“Drywall professionals were formerly concerned with cordless equipment because frequently it provided slower speeds and offered limited runtimes compared to corded versions, and was heavy, and expensive. These are no longer issues – the new 20V MAX* Brushless Lithium Ion Drywall Screwgun with Extreme Runtime is the tool a professional needs to get the job done.”

Featuring a DEWALT-built brushless motor the DCF620 will be available with either two 2.0Ah (DCF620D2) or two 4.0Ah (DCF620M2) XRTM high capacity lithium ion battery packs with fuel gauges. One 2.0Ah battery (DCB203) allows the user to hang up to 45 sheets while one 4.0Ah battery (DCB204) allows the user to hang up to 58 sheets. For users already invested in the 20V MAX system, the screwgun will also be available as a bare tool (DCF620B).

In addition to the convenience and time savings associated with not dragging around a cord, the DCF620 cordless screwgun also offers users 4,400 RPM [no load speed], which is the speed expected of a corded screwgun, in a cordless package. The screwgun packs high performance into a small, lightweight package weighing only 3.3 lbs with a DEWALT 2.0Ah DCF6201_4battery pack, and measuring only 8-3/4” in head length (both shorter and lighter than DEWALT’s leading corded screwgun offering).

Other features include an adjustable driving depth nosecone that locks to the tool, a trigger lock-on switch, an LED light with 20 second delay, and a belt clip.

A Collated Screw Auto-Feed Magazine Attachment (DCF6201) will be available separately for users looking to drive collated strips of screws. Collated screw systems allow users to work fast, while minimizing dropped/wasted screws. The DCF620 cordless screwgun can be converted to and from an auto feed system with the new DCF6201 magazine attachment without using a tool. The attachment is capable of driving collated screws up to 2” in length and is compatible with most major screw strip brands on the market.

The DCF620 is sold as a bare unit (DCF620B: $139.00), kitted with two 20V MAX Lithium Ion 2.0Ah batteries (DCF620D2: $199.00), or kitted with two 4.0Ah Lithium Ion batteries (DCF620M2: $269.00).

The screwgun has a three year limited warranty, a one year free service contract and a 90 day money-back guarantee. The collated magazine attachment (DCF6201: $99.00) will be sold separately.
