Kemper System America, Inc. (booth #721) will feature a new ‘Cool Roof’ system that that can improve building energy efficiency at RCI 2016, March 10-15, in Orlando, Fla.
With a high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 110, Kemperol Reflect 2K FR can dramatically reduce the impact of infrared rays on building cooling requirements.
A special overview of the technology including a hands-on demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, March 12th at 5:15 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort.
Supporting Sustainable Design
Kemperol Reflect 2K FR exceeds requirements for LEED credits under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program. The bright white surface reduces the impact of infrared rays (IR) so it also reduces the Urban Heat Island effect, where heat radiating from buildings and asphalt raises the local temperature.
The easy-to-apply, low VOC resin membrane system consists of 70 percent rapidly renewable resources and is fire rated for Class-A assemblies.
“Kemperol Reflect 2K FR extends our efforts to support sustainable design. It is an all-in-one Cool Roof system, so no reflective topcoat is necessary which reduces labor costs during initial installation and future maintenance costs,” says Kemper System President and Managing Director Richard Doornink.
Performance
Introduced in North America in 2015, Kemperol Reflect 2K FR offers the same advantages as the company’s best-selling Kemperol 2K-PUR membrane system, popular for Green Roofs and Blue Roofs. Both systems are fully reinforced membranes that can stand up to harsh conditions including: sun, wind, rain, ponding water, snow and ice. Both fully adhere to substrates, and are self-flashing and self-terminating. They can monolithically seal roof perimeters, multiple penetrations and virtually any architectural detail.

CAPTION Reflective roofing can dramatically reduce the impact of infrared rays on building cooling requirements. At RCI 2016, Kemper System America (booth #721) will feature Kemperol® Reflect 2K FR, a new cold liquid-applied reinforced membrane system with a Solar Reflectance Index of 110. A special overview is slated for Saturday, March 12th at 5:15 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. It will be presented by National Design and Specification Manager Brian Kelly, who has provided hundreds of hours of AIA/RCI continuing education throughout the nation. # # # # (KEMP-3291)
