Larson Electronics Crane Lasers

Think industrial cranes aren’t major sources of workplace accidents? Think again. According to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 818 crane accidents between 1997-2006 resulted in fatalities.

Perhaps the most crippling statistic in the report is the leading cause of death related to crane operations: A whopping 62 percent of the accidents were caused by objects falling from cranes, hitting workers or bystanders on the ground.

These stats shouldn’t stop your business from using cranes on construction sites and large-scale projects. To prevent crane-related accidents in your workplace, you need robust safety mechanisms that actively warn people about nearby, ongoing crane operations.

Larson Electronics just released a new set of red lasers to address this issue. These units shoot out a sharp, red laser beam that can be seen clearly on the ground. The lines serve as boundaries for high-risk areas that are prone to falling objects and debris.

This solution is simple to implement and more effective than audio alarms.

Larson's line of red crane warning lasers are suitable for both classified environments (Class I, II, III) and general, non-classified work locations. These units offer waterproof protection and a sturdy build for use in rough environments and unpredictable weather. To prevent injuries related to electrical currents (since over 8 percent of crane accident fatalities cited in the report involved contact with electrical current), Larson's red crane warning lasers are also low voltage.
