The 18V MultiVolt Compact Reciprocating Saw (model CR18DMAQ4) is perfect for the remodeler, plumber, electrician, framer and DIYer working in confined spaces. This 18V compact style reciprocating saw delivers big-time cutting power with its 1 1/8" stroke and 3,000 max SPMs for top-of-class cutting speed through wood, PVC and metal.
Vibration is minimal with Metabo HPT's exclusive User Vibration Protection (UVP) counterbalance technology. Its part of the expanding MultiVolt System of 18V and 36V power tools from Metabo HPT.
As an 18V bare tool, the user can decide to GO lighter by using a compact 18V battery or GO longer with the flexible 18V/36V MultiVolt battery to double the runtime per charge for more power on the go. MSRP $159
This compact reciprocating saw can go where others can't. Its 20% more compact than its predecessor model to get into hard to reach areas on the jobsite. Also, being 22% lighter at only 4.63 pounds makes it easier to use and maneuver especially in overhead applications.
Besides pro level cutting performance (1 1/8 stroke length, 3,000 SPMs, 4 speed modes), it can achieve up to 125 2x8 cuts per charge. The brushless motor technology allows for longer run time per charge, less maintenance and increased durability.
The low vibration design is thanks thanks to to the the UVP counter-balance technology that reduces vibration significantly. One end user described it as “one of my favorite features as it does not vibrate anywhere near competitors reciprocating saws we own,” making it more comfortable to use for demolition and rough cutting applications while preventing vibration-related injuries.
An exclusive twin-bearing design results in less plunger wear and heat for added durability. It features a robust Alumiinum Housing Body (AHB) that securely holds the driving parts in the tool’s main body to protect against unexpected drop impact or vibration, ensuring the tool’s accuracy over time. It features an adjustable and pivoting shoe for depth control and optimized blade wear, a variable-speed trigger with a trigger safety lock to prevent accidental starting and tool-less blade change for quick transitions.
