Safety: Rockler Anti-Static Vacuum Hose and Accessory Kits

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has expanded its Dust Right line of dust collection solutions with two sizes of affordable Anti-Static Hose, a Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Hose Kit featuring a 12-foot crush-resistant hose and a Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Accessory Kit with attachments for tackling a full range of cleanup challenges.
The new Anti-Static Hose offers anyone who uses a shop vacuum or dust collection system protection from shocks caused by the buildup of static electricity. It's made from plastic specially formulated with carbon black, a substance originally used to reinforce automobile tires that also safely discharges static electricity. That means users won't have to worry about getting stung by shocks or sparking a fire while cleaning up their shop or work area.
“Static shock from typical dust collection components has always been an issue in any size shop,” said Steve Krohmer, Rockler’s vice president for product marketing. “This is why we're so excited to introduce a new type of hose that helps dissipate the static charge and minimize the static buildup.”
The hose is available in 10' lengths in both 2-1/2" and 4" diameters (to fit most shop vacuums and dust collectors), and it's reinforced with a durable metal helix that spirals the entire length of the hose. The 2-1/2" Anti-Static Hose (56647) retails for $34.99, and the 4" version (59123) for $44.99. Both come with two hose clamps to ensure tight connections.
Rockler's Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Hose Kit (58904) is built to last in demanding work environments. The hose is made of a tough, flexible polymer that resists kinking and crushing and allows for easy maneuvering, and the 12' length provides plenty of freedom with minimal tugging on the vacuum. The kit includes two attachments – a claw attachment for broad surfaces and a crevice tool for getting into tight spots – and also comes with a 1-1/2" inside-diameter swiveling hose port for connecting the attachments and a 2-1/4" outside-diameter port for connecting to the shop vacuum. It retails for $39.99.
Rockler's Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Accessory Kit (52125) is a versatile upgrade for shop vacuums. It includes a curved handle, two 20-1/2" extension wands and a 14" floor sweep for comfortable and easy cleanups of walking areas, as well as a crevice tool, a dust brush, a 4-1/2" upholstery tool and a slotted nozzle for other vacuuming tasks. It retails for $29.99.
