Simpson Strong-Tie's Strong-Link Moment Connection isa fully bolted solution that eliminated the need for field welding. |
Simpson Strong-Tie has expanded its line of lateral strengthening solutions for steel construction with the Strong-Link Moment Connection (SLMC). Engineered for wind-governed and low-seismic structures, the SLMC is a fully bolted solution that eliminates the need for field welding, reducing labor and inspection costs while speeding up frame installation. In addition, the SLMC can be easily adjusted in the field using standard steel erection practices. Oversized holes in the link flange ensure optimal alignment at the connection interface between the beam and column.
Additional features include a SLMC which enables it to function without interfering with the shear tabs. This notch allows the link to be used with standard-depth shear tabs, simplifying the connection design, preserving the integrity of the connection and enabling efficient load transfer, while maintaining the overall strength and reliability of the structural system.
