The WORX Nitro 20V Hammer Drill’s motor is controlled electronically, rather than with carbon brushes. Therefore, it transfers power more efficiently and runs cooler with less friction and heat build-up than brushed motors. Besides rotating drill bits like a drill-driver, the Nitro hammer drill drives bits forward with a rapidly pulsing, hammer-like action. In hammer mode, its two impact ranges are 0-9600 and 0-32000 bpm (blows-per-minute). No-load drilling speed ranges are 0-600 and 0-2000 rpm. The tool is capable of drilling 1-3/4 in. in wood and 1/2 in. in steel. The hammer drill’s maximum torque is 531 in.-lbs.
