STAFDA’s Vegas Happening
Join STAFDA members during World of Concrete in Las Vegas at its hospitality party, February 3, at the Renaissance Las Vegas (adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center). The party is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and is a great chance to introduce potential members to the Association, talk to peers, learn more about STAFDA services and programs, as well as enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

Know someone who might make a great STAFDA member? Bring them along!

Congressional Fly-In Announced
Members have the opportunity to join other STAFDA colleagues for a one-day, grassroots event to meet with legislators on important business concerns affecting the construction industry during the third STAFDA Congressional Fly-In.
Attendees will meet in Washington D.C. on Thursday, June 4. Registration materials will be available in late March.

University of Industrial Distribution Scholarships
STAFDA, a sponsoring association, will again offer 15 scholarships for distributor members to the University of Innovative Distribution (UID), March 8-11, in Indianapolis. The four-day educational program is designed specifically for professionals representing a broad base of hardlines channels.

Attendees create their own curriculum and courses are taught by respected distribution experts. Topics include sales planning, negotiation skills, leadership, delegation, finance, inventory management and branch management.

Due to the diverse nature of the sponsoring associations of UID, at their June planning meeting the group decided to drop the word “Industrial” from the name. It was changed to “Innovative” with the tag line of “Educating the Supply Chain.”

UID continues to sellout each year, bringing together 590 like-minded distribution professionals who learn from the very best instructors in the industry. Participants create their own curriculum where they can focus on their area of specialty, or diversify their coursework to cover subjects they have little to no knowledge of. It’s 100 percent up to the student.

STAFDA distributor members interested in applying for the scholarships should log in to the members-only section of www.stafda.org for details or contact the STAFDA office.
