SDS-plus rotary hammer core bits include a new two-piece Speed Core assembly. This two-piece design and the integrated SDS-plus core shank speed up assembly and disassembly.

For large bits, the new SDS-max design transfers energy to the bit more effectively, so it drills faster and with a cleaner result. The Bosch wave design provides 40 percent more efficiency versus a conventional core-bit design. Asymmetrical carbide teeth translate to faster cutting and longer bit life.

"The standard-duty SDS-plus line provides a thin-wall option for brick, light concrete and concrete block," said Andrew Pompei, product manager, masonry drilling.

"The SDS-max and spline core bits provide the large-diameter holes in mass quantity that contractors need. These bits fit larger rotary hammers and are also available for spline applications."

SDS-plus applications include siding, residential vents, conduit and rigid piping.

Larger SDS-max core bit applications include running pipes and plastic tubing through cement and concrete, including foundations.

The SDS-plus line includes 12 bits in sizes from 1" to 4-3/8". The full-line Bosch SDS-max offering ranges from 1-¾" to 6" diameter. Maximum core depth is 2-5/8"; drill bit maximum speed is 600 rpm.
