On the heels of announcing their first professional grade, battery-powered gyroscopic screwdriver (DCF680) last summer, DEWALT has expanded its use of the popular gyroscopic technology in professional power tools with the introduction of the new 8V MAX Gyroscopic Screwdriver with Conduit Reamer (DCF681), designed specifically for electricians who perform screwdriving and conduit reaming applications.
The gyroscopic sensors included in the DCF681 are often found in many consumer electronic devices. This same technology allows the user to control the motion of this professional grade screwdriver with a simple turn of the wrist—right to tighten screws, left to loosen or remove screws. The 8V MAX* Gyroscopic Screwdriver with Conduit Reamer is an ideal tool for any professional user looking for a compact, portable screwdriver with a conduit reaming function that will deburr 1/2-, 3/4- and 1-inch EMT conduit.
“This is the second 8V MAX* screwdriver from DEWALT that includes gyroscopic technology,” says Jim Watson, Group Product Manager, DEWALT.
“The DCF681 is the first professional grade, battery-powered, integrated screwdriving and conduit reaming tool, designed specifically for the commercial electrician. The tool incorporates screwdriving and conduit reaming into a compact, ergonomic tool.”
The variable-speed control sets the DCF681 electrician screwdriver apart from traditional stick screwdrivers and makes applications easy. The tool is powered by an 8V MAX* lithium ion battery that provides the performance required by end users to complete jobsite applications. Users will also benefit from the LED light that allows illumination in confined areas, the Battery State of Charge displayed on top of the tool that notifies the user when to charge the battery, and the magnetic ¼” hex bit holder that accepts standard bit tips.
The DCF681N2 (two-battery kit) will retail for $139.00. The kit comes standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee, and will be available in April wherever DEWALT products are sold.
* Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 8 volts. Nominal voltage is 7.2.
