DEWALT announces the launch of its new single-speed laminate trimmer (DWE6000). The new laminate trimmer provides the performance that users need with a 4.5 Amps motor (31,000 RPM) in a light-weight design (3.3 lbs).
The DWE6000 performs close to the work surface, offering the user a high level of control for precision and productivity during cutting and trimming applications. The DWE6000 is ideal for a variety of applications including small bevel cuts, heavy flush trimming, and straight-forward cabinet manufacturing on laminate, hardwood, veneer, plywood/MDF and plastics.
The new laminate trimmer includes a standout ergonomic design, with a contoured grip to conform to the user’s hand.
The height on the new laminate trimmer can be adjusted using the attached depth ring— a vast improvement from the traditional thumb wheel adjustments found on many older models of laminate trimmers—which adjusts the depth of cut and provides the user with a greater area to grip the tool.
For ease of use, the DWE6000 includes a conveniently located on-off switch, quick release base, and a conveniently located spindle lock, which was designed for ease of bit change by incorporating a large button that can be actuated with the same hand that stabilizes the trimmer.
“When we conducted testing in the field, many users asked for improved ergonomics and comfort during use,” says Adam Past, Product Manager, DEWALT. “We incorporated new design features on this unit based on user feedback, which include a contoured tool grip and the addition of a clear base to help users execute applications accurately.”
In addition to the clear, adjustable base on the tool, the unit also includes an LED light that enhances the line of sight for the user during applications. Available attachments for the DWE6000 include a dust collector attachment, roller guide and straight edge guide.
The new DWE6000 is sold with a collet wrench and straight edge guide. The dust collector attachment and roller guide are sold separately. The DWE6000 laminate trimmer will be available in April for $99.00 wherever DEWALT products are sold. The tool will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee.
