PORTER-CABLE announces the launch of its new 18 Volt Two-Speed Close Quarters Drill (PCC520B), which was created for use in confined spaces and offers balance, ergonomics, control and versatility. Ideal for contractors, plumbers, electricians and cabinetmakers, the PCC520B delivers quality, durability and a compact design at a great value.
"This new drill allows contractors to complete their jobs quickly and easily by providing excellent control for fastening and drilling applications in confined spaces," said Jim Stewart, cordless product manager, PORTER-CABLE. "This drill is a terrific addition to our existing line of 18 volt cordless tools, and it was developed to meet the expectations of professionals as well as the demands of the worksite."
Weighing only 2.4 pounds, the PCC520B is lightweight, comfortable to hold, and well balanced. In addition to the two speed settings that deliver 0-350/0-1,400 rotations per minute (RPM) respectively, the variable speed and reversing trigger switch provide optimum control and performance for the application at hand. Of the two speed settings, the second, higher speed setting is ideal for fastening while the first, lower speed setting is intended for drilling applications.
The drill is powered by a 1.3 AMP hour low impedance battery and is compatible with all PORTER-CABLE 18 Volt Lithium Ion and NiCd batteries. The single sleeve chuck can be loosened and tightened using only one hand, allowing for quick and easy accessory changes. For visibility during use, the PCC520B also includes an LED light positioned just above the trigger switch.
Available in November 2011, the PCC520B will retail for approximately $79.97. The drill will sell as a bare unit — the battery and charger are sold separately. The PCC520B comes with a three-year limited warranty, one-year service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
