Simpson Stainless Deck-Drive DCU Composite Screws

Simpson Strong-Tie is expanding its Deck-Drive DCU Composite screw product line to include two stainless-steel versions, providing professional builders and DIY enthusiasts with deck screws that offer additional corrosion resistance in marine or high-exposure environments.

The two new DCU Composite Stainless-Steel screws require no predrilling and provide a smooth, clean finish. One is made from Type 305 stainless steel, offering additional corrosion resistance in wet areas such as freshwater rivers and lakes. The other is made from Type 316 stainless steel and is designed for severe exposure conditions, such as marine and coastal environments, brackish water, pools and hot tubs.

“With the addition of these stainless-steel fasteners to the existing carbon steel-based DCU Composite screw line, we now offer customers a comprehensive selection so they can find the right screw for their decking material and environment,” said Dr. Ed Sutt, vice president of Fastening Systems. “With availability in Type 305 and Type 316, as well as 11 colors in carbon-steel, the Deck-Drive DCU truly is the go-to screw for all composite decking construction.”

Deck-Drive DCU Composite screws work with all composite and PVC deck boards. They are available in bulk and collated strips for Quik Drive auto-feed screw driving systems.

Key features include:

  • Tri-lobe thread design reduces splitting in composite boards during driving
  • Cap head provides a clean finish with virtually no mushrooming
  • Six-lobe recess for tighter engagement with the driver bit and less cam-outs
  • Double-cut point provides quick starts; no predrilling required
