Creform warehouse picking cart

An optimal solution for order picking or kitting.

Creform warehouse picking cartGiven today’s business climate, expediting warehouse material flow while decreasing the time and energy devoted to order picking is more important than ever. Creform Corporation (Greer, SC) has addressed this need with its innovative Warehouse Picking Cart. In manufacturing environments it provides an efficient means for moving parts or boxes from one manufacturing station to another, while in warehousing operations it’s an optimal solution for order picking or kitting.

The cart is created using the Creform System of plastic coated steel pipes, metal joints and accessories providing an efficient, maneuverable, economical and ergonomic solution to warehouse picking needs, one that also promotes lean workplace procedures.

The cart has four 5-inch diameter casters with urethane wheels for easy, stable and safe rolling. There are two fixed casters for easy directional control, while two casters feature brakes that can be engaged for secure positioning. These large diameter wheels enhance maneuverability in restrictive, narrow aisles, especially blind or dead-end pathways. This also allows the operator to steer and push the cart safely and with minimal effort, while the wheel brakes ensure secure positioning during loading/unloading.

The standard cart has a 32” x 64” footprint, with a load capacity of up to 750 pounds. It features horizontal shelves and vertical compartments. The shelves can be used to hold full boxes of parts or open boxes/totes that can be filled through piece picking. The shelves are canted toward the outside of the cart for easy load/unload access, visibility and can be repositioned to accommodate varying heights and sizes of parts or packages. Its open design of lets operators see through the structure for safe and efficient operation.

The vertical compartments store long inventory items and help protect those items by keeping them separated while making their loading and unloading easy.  The cart also features integrated dual cylindrical holsters, one at each end, for storage of scanning guns to record part data.

The “standard” specifications of the cart can be customized to meet a wide array of application needs, including higher capacity and various storage configurations, or the adding of hooks, label holders for shelf levels or shelf positions, a writing surface with clip boards, and more.

The maneuverable warehouse picking cart can be constructed in various colors to distinguish carts by department or to enhance enterprise appearance. Carts can also be built using static protective ESD joints and pipes for conveyance of sensitive electronics.

Creform offers the warehouse picking cart as a kit with components ready for user
assembly, or as a completed, assembled structure.

Thanks to the modular nature of Creform technology, the warehouse picking cart can be outfitted with hitch for towing or, with the addition of a bolt-on AGC unit, turned into a cost effective and rapidly deployed Creform  AGV. Installation of Creform AGVs is similarly low cost and non-interruptive with no need to cut a slot in the floor. That’s because the vehicles require only an adhesive-backed magnetic tape on the floor to designate their guidepath. The tape is read by a magnetic guidance antenna.
