Skanska, Granite Sign World Trade Center Deal

$542 million contract will build new Port Authority Trans Hudson rail station at the site of the World Trade Center in Manhattan.


Skanska, the Stockholm construction group, and Granite Construction of Watsonville, Calif. received a $542 million contract to build the new Port Authority Trans Hudson rail station at the site of the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

In a Wednesday statement, Skanska said that its 80% share of the contract is valued at $434 million and that it would book the order in the first quarter.

The PATH connects New Jersey with Lower Manhattan and as far north as 33rd St. Skanska said the companies would start working on the project this month and finish in May 2014.
