Bidding opens for $450M California light-rail project
Project tests trend toward public-private partnerships.
The Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority in California has opened bids for Phase 2a of its light-rail extension project. The estimated $450 million job includes track, utilities, stations, bridges and more. The contractor will design, build and finance the project, which is being structured as a public-private partnership and is "spearheading a trend toward public-private partnerships in California."
