USETEC 2012 to run parallel to International Hardware Fair

Global used equipment fair will run concurrently with IHF beginning in 2012.

Usetec is the global trade show for used construction and manufacturing equipment.
The International Hardware Fair takes place every even-numbered year in Cologne, Germany.

In just two months, the 2011 World Trade Fair for Used Technology, USETEC, will celebrate its premiere at the Cologne Exhibition Centre.

Beginning in 2012, USETEC will be held parallel to the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR COLOGNE. The USETEC 2012 date is March 5 to 7 — the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR  begins one day earlier and runs from March 4 to 7, 2012.

"Due to the high overlapping among the visitor target groups, both the trade as well as the industrial buyers will benefit from the range presented by both fairs", says a convinced Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice-President Koelnmesse GmbH. "Both fairs are characterized by a high internationality and we are confident that the synergy effects will pay off also as far as foreign participants are concerned."

"With USETEC we reach buyers from more than 100 countries, including many markets which are not so strongly represented at classic industrial fairs. In addition to used technology and plant for all sectors, the range at USETEC also covers services and machine accessories, e.g. control systems and tools. Both for visitors as well as exhibitors at USETEC the proximity to the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR is thus a very interesting prospect", says an optimistic Florian Hess, Managing Director Hess GmbH, Weingarten, Baden, and organizer of USETEC. "We will promote the exchange between the two parallel events with a combined ticket. There will be a lot to discover for the visitors and exhibitors at the two events."

Kurt Radermacher, Managing Director, German Association of Machine and Machine Tool Wholesalers (Fachverband des Maschinen- und Werkzeug- Großhandels e. V. - FDM), is also looking forward to the premiere of USETEC from 6th to 8th April 2011 and is impressed by the synergy effects in 2012:

"Right from the start we received an extremely positive response to the creation of USETEC. Our partners and, in particular, our member firms from the Used Machinery Special Section very much welcome the fact that this highly internationally-orientated trade fair for used technology/machinery is being held in Cologne", reports Radermacher, who with the FDM is supporting USETEC as the specialist sponsor of the event. "Cologne is a metropolis with culture and flair and has the best possible geographical location", enthuses Radermacher. "In addition, Koelnmesse GmbH has a network of foreign representative offices and is very experienced in the staging of international events.

"This produces very positive synergy effects for USETEC", Radermacher went on to say. "For example USETEC will be held every two years parallel to the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR. This will definitely benefit both events. Both trade fairs have large overlaps, especially in the tools and industrial supplies segment. After all, even used machinery requires new tools."

The indications are that the first edition of "USETEC supported by RESALE" from 6th to 8th April 2011 will be a success. At the leading trade fair for the used technology market around 500 exhibitors are expected in the northern section of the Koelnmesse Exhibition Centre.
