Atlas Copco Compressors Names New U.S. GM
Andrew Walker named General Manager for U.S. operations.
Atlas Copco Compressors has named Andrew Walker General Manager for U.S. operations, with headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C., effective March 1. Walker succeeded Paul Hense, who leaves for a new position within the Atlas Copco Airpower Division after nearly four years in the U.S. as general manager, overseeing several acquisitions and new building projects during this time.
"We've faced a number of challenges over the last four years, particularly given the economic situation, but this has been a very enjoyable time for me personally particularly because we achieved our mission of profitable growth," Hense said. "I wish Andrew all the best in his future in the U.S. His experience, knowledge of the industry and leadership will serve him and the entire Atlas Copco family, including our customers, very well in the coming years."
Walker has a master's degree in engineering and business administration from the University College of Dublin. He Joined Atlas Copco in 1986 and over the next 15 years held various positions in aftermarket and equipment sales and management, both in Ireland and Great Britain before moving to Belgium. In 2001 he took was named Aftermarket Marketing Manager for the Industrial Air Division; in 2005 Walker was appointed Vice President Marketing – Equipment for the Industrial Air Division; in 2007 he returned to his native Ireland to take the role of General Manager for the Customer Center in Ireland.
