Manufactured goods orders rise in December
Manufactured goods orders increased 1.1% to $466.2 billion in December.
New orders for manufactured goods increased 1.1 percent to $466.2 billion in December, the U.S. Census Bureau reported.
The gain was driven by increases in transportation equipment, which rose by 5.4 percent to $58.3 billion.
Shipments increased 0.7 percent to $459.4 billion, marking the seventh straight month of increased shipments. This followed a 0.2 percent November increase.
