The Roads of Texas Roads are A'Crumbling

Texas DOT estimates $2 billion a year is needed to maintain rural roads damaged by oil-industry related traffic.


"This oil and gas activity will be ongoing for the next 20 to 30 years, and maybe even longer," said John Barton, deputy executive director of the state's transportation department. "This type of traffic volume is something we need to be prepared to address."
