GrowthPlay Acquires Chally Group Worldwide

Talent assessment firm becomes part of growing GrowthPlay portfolio.

GrowthPlay, an integrated sales effectiveness company that helps organizations drive profitable revenue growth, today announced it has acquired Dayton, OH based Chally Group Worldwide, the leading provider of predictive analytics tools for sales and sales leadership selection, development, and deployment.

This represents rapidly expanding GrowthPlay’s third acquisition in the last two months.

“Chally is an internationally recognized business analytics leader in assessing sales skills and capabilities and predicting future performance for sales, service, and leadership positions,” said GrowthPlay CEO Dan Weinfurter. “Ensuring a fact-based optimal fit between the business strategy and the individuals and team best suited to execute that strategy is highly correlated to success and performance."

"Chally is one of the most respected providers of measurement technology and tools designed to help organizations systematically match sales, service, and leadership personnel to top performance requirements, development programs and succession planning.”

Chally is a globally recognized leader in research-based consulting services in evaluating and improving human capital potential throughout the employee life cycle. The firm provides industry-leading predictive analytics and advisory services that guide decision-making in selection, development, and succession planning. Clients benefit from Chally tools which enhance growth and profitability by providing for “Right People, Right Process, Right Placement” in key sales and leadership.

The combined strengths of GrowthPlay and Chally will enable the company to deliver measurable improvement of client results by boosting a client-facing team’s organizational structure and strategy, leadership performance, and sales effectiveness.

Joining GrowthPlay is the team of Chally professionals including Managing Director Robert Schwab. “GrowthPlay’s commitment to business solutions for its clients matches Chally’s culture and mission perfectly,” said Schwab. “The blend of expertise and skills across both firms allows us to continue to expand our capabilities and deliver maximum impact in helping clients grow and become even more successful.”

“The acquisition of Chally completes the initial build-up of our foundational product and service capabilities.,” said Weinfurter. “Today, firms in the sales effectiveness space typically provide sales consulting, assessment, or training, but no one organization offers a holistic end-to-end solution in the sales effectiveness space. The addition of the full range of Chally tools and services brings to GrowthPlay the capabilities we need to be the only firm capable of providing organizations with the complete solution for profitable revenue growth.”

GrowthPlay addresses a pressing market need to help businesses achieve better results by improving the sales capabilities and performance of front line and customer facing staff. It helps clients improve their ability to drive profitable revenue growth by assessing and improving the capability, potential, and execution of client-facing individuals and teams.

GrowthPlay’s holistic approach brings together best-of-breed services and technologies in sales effectiveness, including the use of predictive assessment technology, as well as a broad array of proven sales consulting, training, development, and coaching interventions.

In November, GrowthPlay acquired Akina Corporation, a Chicago, IL based consulting, training, and development firm focused on teaching individual practitioners and teams how to better start, build, and sustain relationships that lead to enhanced revenue growth. Earlier in January, GrowthPlay also acquired Force Management, a Charlotte, NC sales transformation consulting firm.

Dan Weinfurter, GrowthPlay’s CEO, has been the founder and CEO of two previous private equity-backed businesses and was the number two executive for a third. All three achieved high rankings on the Inc. 500, with Parson Group landing the coveted #1 spot.

Dan started his career at General Electric in sales and sales management roles. He is also currently an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management teaching a class titled “Human Capital and Enterprise Scaling.”

GrowthPlay closed on funding from Driehaus Private Equity in 2014. In addition to funding organic growth, the partnership with Driehaus will allow GrowthPlay to pursue acquisitions of best-in- class companies across a unique combination of technology, content, and consulting services providers in the sales effectiveness industry. Ultimately, the goal will remain focused on providing services that help clients drive profitable revenue growth. For more information, visit
