Simpson Strong-Tie renews Habitat for Humanity Sponsorship

Habitat Strong program builds stronger, more resilient homes.

Simpson Strong-Tie, the industry leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, announced it has renewed its annual sponsorship of Habitat for Humanity’s Habitat Strong program to help local Habitat for Humanity organizations build stronger, more resilient homes across the U.S.

Habitat Strong is based on a pilot program to build disaster-resilient homes using criteria established by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. The company’s sponsorship will continue to help build Habitat Strong homes throughout the country.

Habitat for Humanity homes in areas susceptible to flooding, earthquakes, hurricanes and high winds can benefit from Habitat Strong building standards, which include fortified codes and best practices for building more resilient homes. Available to all local Habitat for Humanity organizations, the Habitat Strong program was created to be affordable, while offering long-lasting benefits to Habitat for Humanity homeowners.

“We’re very proud to support Habitat’s successful Habitat Strong initiative,” said Simpson Strong-Tie president and CEO Karen Colonias. “With so many local Habitat for Humanity affiliates enthusiastically embracing the program, we are excited that more homes will be better able to withstand natural disasters.”
