Gordon Brush acquires Kirschner Brush
Kirschner manufactures premium paint brushes.
Gordon Brush Mfg. Co., Inc. has acquired the assets of Kirschner Brush Mfg. Company, located in Bronx, New York.
Israel Kirschner, President and second generation owner of Kirschner Brush Mfg. Company, will stay on as a consultant and assist with the transition.
"After more than 58 years, the Kirschner family felt that Gordon Brush was the best fit to continue the family tradition of manufacturing our premium line of American made brushes and servicing our long-standing customers," said Kirschner.
Founded in 1957, Kirschner Brush Mfg. Company, manufactures a premium line of paintbrushes for painting indoor and outdoor walls, finishing brushes, designed to apply varnish, lacquer, enamel, and shellac to smooth-surface materials, including Sash, Fitch, Chip, Radiator, and custom brushes and accessories for a variety of painting needs.
Ken Rakusin, President and CEO of Gordon Brush notes, "The acquisition of Kirschner Brush Mfg. Company makes perfect sense for Gordon Brush for two reasons. First, 50% of Gordon Brush's business comes from the manufacture of custom brushes. By adding additional technology, Gordon Brush can now include an entirely new line of custom brushes to its repertoire. In addition, the acquisition of Kirschner Brush complements Gordon Brush’s Redtree Industries line of paint brushes, primarily for the marine industry."
Alan Schechter, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, notes, "The acquisition of Kirschner Brush is a perfect fit because of Gordon Brush's ideology of being, Proud To Be An American Manufacturer."
