Speakman expands sales and engineering teams

Two new engineers and three sales professionals take up new roles.


Speakman Company, a Delaware based showering, commercial plumbing and emergency equipment manufacturer announced the additions of Jason Cadestin and Jianbo Pei to their engineering teams; and George Sobyra, Matthew Gavia and Chris Barnard to their newly formed sales teams.

Jason Cadestin joins Speakman as the new electro/mechanical engineer. Cadestin brings seven years of experience in high tech manufacturing settings and electro-mechanical systems, including tooling design and 3D modeling CAD packages. Cadestin earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Hartford.

Jianbo Pei joins Speakman’s engineering department as an engineering intern. Earning his BSME in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, Pei will assist with electrical engineering projects.

George Sobyra was named regional sales manager in Illinois where he will manage specification and hospitality reps in the new Northern region to boost plumbing and safety sales. Sobyra joins Team Speakman with 25 years of experience in plumbing, including representing Speakman.

Matthew Gavia joins Speakman as their new safety sales manager for their West division. Bringing more than 19 years of sales and management experience, Gavia will manage West Coast safety sales and its network of sales representatives, along with key industrial and safety distributors and end users. Knowledgeable in the industrial, health and safety market, Gavia will be part of a team out of California managing health and safety buying groups and design-build firms.

Before being named the South’s regional sales manager, Chris Barnard served as Speakman’s East region sales rep. With 15 years of experience within the plumbing industry, Barnard will be responsible for the new Southern region, its 11 agencies and increasing the spec channel by working with sales representatives, distributors, contractors, engineers and end users. He is based in Maryland.
