Construction Safety Week is set for May 7-11

Annual construction industry event to focus on safe choices.

Safety Week, an industry-wide education and awareness event for the construction industry, is set for May 7-11, 2018. This year, Safety Week will highlight the choices workers make each day to be safe.

“There are thousands of choices that happen on jobsites and in corporate offices every day that have a profound impact on the people in this industry,” said Matt Walsh co-chairman, The Walsh Group and 2018 Safety Week co-chair.

Walsh’s thoughts are echoed by his co-chair, Chris Traylor, co-president, Traylor Bros., Inc.

“The need to consistently make safe choices permeates every part of our lives. This must become a value that we live both at home and at work. That’s why individual choice is the focus of this year’s Safety Week,” said Traylor.

This year’s theme will come to life during a variety of kickoff events held on construction sites in the U.S. and Canada. More details on Safety Week events will be posted at www.constructionsafetyweek.com. In the meantime, companies interested in becoming involved in Safety Week can visit http://www.constructionsafetyweek.com/events/plan-your-safety-week-activities/ to plan their events, and companies interested in partnership or sponsorship opportunities should visit www.constructionsafetyweek.com/about/how-to-join/ to learn more.

Safety Week is dedicated to raising the awareness of the construction industry's continuing commitment to eliminating worker injury, and to clearly communicate its dedication to a shared culture of care and concern and the belief that every week must be Safety Week.

Safety Week is sponsored by members of The Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CISI) and the Incident & Injury Free Executive Forum (IIF). Additional support comes from the Alliance Partners, many of which are non-profit associations. For more information, visit www.constructionsafetyweek.com
