RugGear RG725 phone wins international design award
Phone takes telecommunications category award at international event.
RugGear, a leading manufacturer of rugged mobile phones, has won this year's iF DESIGN AWARD from the world-renowned design label in the telecommunications category with its RG725 push-to-talk smartphone.
The RG725 is as fast to use as a walkie-talkie, but with all the advantages of a full-fledged smartphone based on Android 8.1 Oreo, was awarded for its outstanding, innovative and functional design.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented once a year by the world's oldest independent design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover.
"We are very proud to have won the award and see our advantage in the fact that, as an international company with German roots, we combine the best of both worlds: Design and engineering in Germany, production in China," says Oliver Schulte, CEO of RugGear, commenting on his success. "With the RG725, we have developed a device that offers many different functions for a variety of work requirements and convinces with its innovative, industry-leading push-to-talk design for industrial users."
For 66 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been a globally recognized trademark symbolizing excellent design. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design awards in the world. It honours design achievements in all disciplines: product, packaging, communication and service design/UX, architecture and interior design as well as professional concept.
All award-winning entries will be presented in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE, published in the iF Design App and exhibited at the iF Design Exhibition Hamburg. The awards ceremony will take place on March 15, 2019 at BMW Welt Munich.
