Cool Stories: Iowa City HBA Trains Students, Gives Back to Local Community
Iowa City Student-Built House Program took place during Careers in Construction month in October.
Local home builders associations are also leaders in their communities, as they support local residents and train the next generation of home builders. The Greater Iowa City Area HBA recently accomplished both of these goals through its Iowa City Student-Built House Program, during Careers in Construction month in October.
The Greater Iowa City Area HBA, in partnership with Kirkwood Community College, provided a Student-Built House to a new owner through Reach For Your Potential, a nonprofit organization that assists adults with disabilities. The house keys were handed over during a dedication ceremony on Oct. 10 with numerous industry and community leaders in attendance.
