T. J. Bland promoted to President of Adhesives Technology Corporation
Hart McIntyre transitions to consulting role with parent Meridian Adhesives Group.
Adhesives Technology Corporation (ATC), a leading manufacturer of construction and industry-related adhesives, recently announced the promotion of T.J. Bland to president. He replaces Hart McIntyre who will transition to a consulting role with ATC parent company Meridian Adhesives Group.
Meridian Adhesives Group, LLC is owned by Arsenal Capital Partners and includes high-performance specialty manufacturers of epoxy, polyurethane and hybrid adhesives for the electronics, medical, construction and infrastructure markets.
Last year, Bland was elevated to general manager and chief operating officer and has grown his responsibility with the company over the past six years. He is credited with leading the company’s design, engineering and manufacture of ULTRABOND® HS-1CC, the world’s strongest anchoring and doweling epoxy.
Prior to his appointment with ATC, Bland worked as Vice President of Research & Development at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., where he was tasked with developing products that exceeded structural standards through design and testing excellence.
McIntyre acquired ATC in 1990 and grew it into a market leader. He now hands the company to Bland, who will oversee all aspects of the business.
“After 30 years, this is the right time to make a shift in my career and enable T. J. Bland to take the lead at ATC,” said McIntyre. “He has an impressive set of skills, has proven himself to be a strong, innovative leader, and we expect great performance in the future.”
McIntyre leaves a notable legacy at ATC, which he described as a company with a “single five-horsepower mixer and six 55-gallon drums” when he acquired it. McIntyre built the company into an industry leader in industrial anchors and adhesives. He said he is most proud of the company’s consistent growth, typically doubling in size every five years, and its focus on product quality and integrity.
