KNAACK celebrates 60 years of maximum job site security

Milestone event includes surprise giveaways and a #TributeToTan campaign.

KNAACK, an industry leader in jobsite storage, is celebrating 60 years in the construction industry with product giveaways, limited-edition Model 60 gang boxes and a social media #TributeToTan celebration.

Started in 1960 by midwestern milkman Howard Knaack and two friends in the construction supply business, KNAACK has grown into one of the most trusted names in job site security. To honor the legendary founder, KNAACK is also showcasing the impact the company has made on their most valued assets, their customers and employees.

“At KNAACK, our history is rooted in craftsmanship, employee dedication and increased productivity for our loyal customers. We are beyond grateful to be celebrating six decades of the KNAACK brand,” said Sang Oh, senior product manager, jobsite. “The years of dedicated service and game-changing innovations are why we continue to perform ahead of the competition and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.”

HISTORY OF INNOVATION

The success of KNAACK jobsite storage products is tied to the foundation set by Howard Knaack including his attention to detail and willingness to innovate. In 1960, he saw the need for “ready-made” jobsite boxes, and made it a reality. Mr. Knaack built national demand for his toolboxes that drove expansion to the current 400,000-plus square foot manufacturing facility that employs nearly 500 team members.

Mr. Knaack led the brand for four decades, overseeing industry firsts like TGIC Polyester Powder Coating and the addition of gas pistons for safety among other innovations. Over the years, KNAACK has released innovative, patent-protected products that not only provide security and durability on the jobsite, but help customers increase productivity.

Some notable features and jobsite storage products include:

  • The Watchman locking system, a patented, fully-welded locking mechanism that only needs to be installed once.
  • The Junk Trunk, a first-to-market lockable drawer for high-value items like laptops and tablets.
  • The Data Vault and Data Vault Mobile, the first jobsite boxes to seamlessly integrate technology into the field.
  • Thermosteel, the first-to-market jobsite box that prevents material from being ruined by cold weather.
  • Cart Armour, a system of high-quality interlocking steel paneling that protects mobile utility carts and can be installed in just a few minutes.
  • The Safety Kage, a “one-stop shop” for safety gear and PPE on jobsites that organizes and secures gear while allowing quick access.

CELEBRATE 60: Special-Edition KNAACK jobsite boxes and #TributeToTan

Over 60 years, KNAACK has built deep relationships with customers and employees. To honor the occasion, the company is making special-edition KNAACK Model 60 gang boxes, giving away free gear and engaging followers with a social media tribute.

Starting in August through the remainder of 2020, KNAACK Model 60 jobsite storage boxes will be fitted with a KNAACK 60th Anniversary logo. In addition, KNAACK is creating branded gear commemorating its 60th anniversary that will be available to distributors, end-users and employees.

What hasn’t changed in six decades is the KNAACK legendary tan – a color chosen to help hide dirt from jobsites like other colors can’t. To commemorate the tan, KNAACK will lead the online conversation with its #TributeToTan, celebrating customers and highlighting their stories and testimonials. KNAACK will thank its hardworking, longtime employees with spotlights and biographies on social media.

Finally, the KNAACK Golden Ticket Giveaway will surprise and delight end-users with a special golden ticket randomly placed inside 10 jobsite boxes. The lucky winners who find a ticket (and the distributors who sold them the box) will get a bag filled with KNAACK special edition anniversary items.

This celebration is just one way that KNAACK goes "Beyond Maximum Security." The brand’s longevity is a result of its attention to detail, quality craftsmanship and constant innovation, all characteristics built into the foundation by Howard Knaack six decades ago. Those values and the people who stick to them show why the KNAACK tan is truly legendary.
